We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Industrial Blaster to join our workshop team. This hands-on role is responsible for preparing valves, actuators, fabricated components, and customer equipment for coating, painting, repair, and refurbishment activities.
Responsibilities
- Carry out abrasive blasting activities on valves, actuators, fabricated components, and customer-returned equipment.
- Prepare surfaces to required cleanliness and profile standards in accordance with job specifications and coating requirements.
- Remove corrosion, scale, existing coatings, and other contaminants to ensure components are ready for painting or refurbishment.
- Inspect blasted surfaces to confirm they meet quality and project requirements.
- Prepare returned equipment and components for repair, overhaul, and refurbishment processes.
- Strip damaged coatings and assist in exposing areas requiring repair or inspection.
- Operate blasting equipment, recovery systems, and associated workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
- Safely move materials and components using approved lifting equipment.
Load and unload items into blasting areas while protecting critical surfaces from damage.
Your Profile
- Previous experience in industrial abrasive blasting or a similar surface preparation role.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical documentation, and engineering drawings.
- LF Forklift Licence .
- Overhead Crane Licence (preferred).
