We are seeking an experienced and skilled Motor Mechanic to join the team at PB Auto Care. This is a full-time position based in Coburg North, VIC 3058. As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role is central to our business operations and directly impacts the quality of service we provide to our valued customers. You will work in a professional workshop environment, utilizing modern diagnostic equipment and tools to deliver exceptional automotive solutions.

Key responsibilities

* Diagnose vehicle faults using specialized diagnostic equipment and perform comprehensive testing

* Carry out repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspensions

* Service vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and scheduled maintenance program

* Inspect vehicles and identify potential issues before they become major problems

* Replace worn or faulty components including filters, belts, hoses, spark plugs and brake pads

* Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed

* Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards

* Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair requirements and progress updates

* Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

* Reassembling engines and parts after being repair

* Keep the workshop clean, organized and compliant with health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

* A relevant automotive trade qualification or apprenticeship completion (such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)

* Proven minimum one year experience working as a Motor Mechanic in a professional workshop environment

* Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, diagnostics and repair procedures

* Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer-based systems used in modern vehicles

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team





* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

* Valid driver's license and willingness to test drive vehicles

* Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements

* Good communication skills and customer service orientation
