About the Role:
Join Pastuso — Melbourne's celebrated Peruvian restaurant in the heart of the CBD — as a Full-Time Senior Sous Chef. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, South American flavours and premium produce, Pastuso offers the opportunity to work alongside some of Melbourne's most experienced hospitality professionals while helping lead a passionate and high-performing kitchen team.
Reporting to the Head Chef, you'll receive dedicated monthly appraisals, genuine skilled support and ongoing opportunities to develop your leadership skills while helping drive food quality, kitchen performance and team development in a quick-paced, premium venue.
In the Senior Sous Chef role, your day-to-day will involve:

Leading kitchen operations and supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the brigade
•
Coaching, mentoring and developing junior chefs to build a high-performing kitchen culture
•
Maintaining exceptional food quality,
consistency and presentation across every service
•
Managing ordering, stock control, food safety and kitchen organisation
•
Assisting with rostering, labour management and cost control
•
Driving a positive, accountable team culture while ensuring seamless service alongside the front-of-house team
Our successful candidate will have:
•
Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or experienced Sous Chef within a premium, high-volume venue
•
Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing others
•
Excellent knowledge of food safety, kitchen operations and stock management
•
Valid working rights in Australia
•
A positive, professional attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality
