About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Plant Operator / Excavator Operator to join our growing team on a full-time basis.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll primarily operate plant and equipment across a range of civil construction projects. When machinery isn’t required, you’ll be expected to jump in and assist the crew with general labouring duties to help keep projects running efficiently.

We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic who isn’t afraid to get out of the cab, work alongside the team, and contribute wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate excavators and other plant and equipment.
- Carry out excavation, trenching, earthworks and civil construction tasks.
- Perform daily pre-start inspections and basic plant maintenance.
- Assist with setting out, site preparation and manual labouring duties as required.
- Work alongside supervisors and crew members to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised worksite.
- Follow all WHS policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements





- Demonstrated experience operating excavators within the civil construction industry.
- Current White Card.
- Verification of Competency (VOC) for excavator operations.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and WHS requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering quality work.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.

Licences, Tickets & Competencies

Applicants should hold, or be able to demonstrate competency in, some or all of the following:

- Excavator (VOC)
- Roller
- Articulated Haul Truck
- Skid Steer
- Water Cart
- Elevating Work Platform (EWP)
- Boom-Type Elevating Work Platform (Boom Lift)
- Scissor Lift

Highly Regarded

The following will be viewed favourably:

- Experience across a variety of civil construction projects, including footings, detailed excavation and earthworks.
- Ability to read plans and work to levels.
- Experience working around live services and within tight construction sites.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills and willingness to assist the wider crew when required.
- Commitment to maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard.
