About Sandy Bay Massage

Sandy Bay Massage is seeking a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist to join our established and supportive team for approximately two to five days per week.

Located close to Hobart’s CBD, Sandy Bay Massage has built a strong reputation and loyal client base over more than a decade. We provide a professionally managed clinic environment where practitioners can focus on delivering excellent care and developing long-term relationships with their clients.

We welcome applications from experienced therapists as well as exceptional new graduates who are confident, personable, reliable and eager to continue developing their clinical skills.

We would also consider expressions of interest from a suitably qualified allied health practitioner whose services complement our existing remedial massage clinic.

About the opportunity

This is an independent practitioner opportunity for approximately two to five days per week.

Weekend availability is preferred due to strong client demand; however, working days and shifts are flexible and can be discussed according to your availability and the clinic’s needs.

We are looking for someone interested in developing a long-term professional relationship with the clinic and becoming a valued member of our team.





You will be joining an established practice rather than starting alone in an empty treatment room. Reception, bookings, marketing, payment facilities and treatment equipment are already provided, allowing you to concentrate on treating clients and building your professional reputation.

A towel and laundry hire service is available for practitioners who prefer not to supply and launder their own towels.

Reception is available six days per week. Practitioners may occasionally need to process a payment, complete a private health-fund claim, assist a client with rebooking or respond to a basic client enquiry when reception is unavailable. Full training will be provided.

About you

You have excellent manual therapy skills and a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology and musculoskeletal conditions.

You are confident in assessing a client’s presentation, identifying their treatment goals and developing an individual treatment plan. You can adapt your pressure, techniques and communication style to achieve the most appropriate outcome for each client.

You are comfortable working autonomously with a diverse range of clients while remaining part of a supportive clinical team.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enjoy building rapport and understand the importance of professional boundaries, accurate clinical notes and consistent client care.

You are also committed to continuing professional development and are eager to expand your clinical knowledge and practical skills.

Essential requirements for massage therapists

The successful massage therapy applicant must have:

- A Diploma of Remedial Massage, Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy or an equivalent recognised qualification




- Current membership with a recognised professional association
- Current private health-fund provider recognition, or eligibility to obtain the required provider numbers
- A current First Aid certificate
- A current Australian Business Number
- Current skilled indemnity and public liability insurance
- A current Working with Vulnerable People registration
- Appropriate working rights in Australia
- Robust spoken and written English communication skills
- The ability to maintain clear, accurate and timely clinical notes

Desirable additional skills

Additional qualifications or experience in any of the following areas would be highly regarded:

- Dry needling
- Pregnancy and postnatal massage
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Myofascial cupping
- Sports massage
- Myofascial or trigger-point techniques
- Oncology massage
- Other complementary manual therapy modalities

Allied health practitioners

We are also open to hearing from suitably qualified allied health practitioners interested in joining an established multidisciplinary environment.

The practitioner should offer services that complement our existing remedial massage clinic and share our commitment to professional, client-centred care.

Applicants must hold all relevant qualifications, registrations, association memberships, insurance and provider recognition required for their profession.
