Do you love dogs and enjoy hands-on, active work? We’re looking for a reliable, caring, and enthusiastic team member to join our dog kennel and doggy daycare.

About the Role (Please Read Before Applying)

This is not a job where you spend all day cuddling and playing with dogs. Working at Apple Street Kennels is a physically demanding, fast-paced role that requires a strong work ethic and the ability to stay on your feet for long periods. Your day will involve heavy cleaning, lifting, bending, walking dogs, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and keeping our facility to an exceptionally high standard. Some days are extremely busy, particularly during school holidays, and the work can be physically exhausting. If you enjoy being active, take pride in hard work, and aren’t afraid to get dirty, you’ll find this role incredibly rewarding. However, if you’re looking for an easy job simply because you love dogs, this position is unlikely to be the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

- Feeding, exercising, and supervising dogs
- Cleaning kennels, runs, and play areas to a high standard




- Monitoring dog behaviour and ensuring safe group play
- Administering basic care and following care instructions
- Providing enrichment, comfort, and positive interaction
- Communicating with team members and following procedures

What We're Looking For

- A genuine love for dogs and animal welfare
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Confidence handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Willingness to perform cleaning duties (this is our main job & most important task)
- Experience working with dogs

Physical requirements:

- Ability to lift 20kg
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Stamina for standing, walking and bending for extended periods
