What you'll be doing
As our Payroll Officer, you'll play a vital role in delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across our diverse national workforce.
You'll be responsible for:
- End-to-end payroll processing across multiple awards, EBAs and employment arrangements
- Processing current starters, terminations, leave, overtime, allowances, back pays and payroll adjustments
- Reconciling payrolls and resolving discrepancies
- Maintaining employee payroll records and entitlements
- Processing superannuation, salary packaging and statutory payroll obligations
- Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and managers
- Preparing payroll reports and supporting internal and external audits
- Working closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll compliance and accuracy
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll systems, processes and reporting
About you
You'll be an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced workplace and has a genuine commitment to providing excellent internal customer service.
You'll bring:
- Experience processing end-to-end payroll
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards, EBAs, taxation and superannuation
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Experience using payroll and financial systems (Workforce One experience highly regarded)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and computer skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
- A passion for continuous improvement and finding better ways of working
A Certificate in Business Administration, Payroll Administration or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one) will be required.

Desired Skills and Experience
Post secondary qualification in Business Administration, Accounting or Management preferably at Certificate level or above or minimum equivalent 2 years experience. Experience in the development and process improvement of processes and procedures. Demonstrated experience in a payroll system.
