K E Brown Electrical Switchboards is seeking a Welder (First Class) for our workshop located in Warriewood, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, near Mona Vale.

We are looking for candidates seeking a stable, long-term career with us. As part of our skilled team, you will have the opportunity to build your skills and expertise while contributing to our extensive product range.

This is a day-time, Monday to Friday, permanent full-time position with opportunities for overtime and career development.

Your Duties Will Include:

Welding Tasks:

- Perform welding using various techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawing





Preparation and Setup:

- Prepare and set up welding machines and equipment based on the specifications of the job
- Ensure materials are correctly prepared for welding, including cutting, grinding, and fitting parts together

Quality Control:

- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications
- Perform non-destructive and destructive testing to verify weld integrity

Maintenance and Repair:

- Maintain welding equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure it operates efficiently
- Repair or replace damaged or worn parts

Safety Compliance:

- Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards

Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of welding operations, including material usage and inspection results
- Document deviations from standard procedures and report to supervisors

Collaboration:

- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and team members to complete projects efficiently
- Provide guidance and training to junior welders or apprentices when required

Problem-Solving:

- Troubleshoot welding-related issues and develop effective solutions
- Material Handling:




- Safely handle and store welding materials and tools
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations

Continuous Improvement:

- Stay updated with the latest welding techniques and industry best practices
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Skills and Requirements:

- Education: Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in a relevant field
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in welding, gained either in Australia or overseas
- Specialist Skills: Strong welding abilities and attention to detail
- Work Rights: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder
- Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be preferred. Other applicants with full work rights can apply only if they meet the above criteria.

Ideal Candidate:

- Previous experience in switchboard fabrication (advantageous)
- Familiarity with CNC machinery (a plus, but not essential)
- Strong focus on safety and correct manual handling techniques
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
