Salary: AUD 75,000 - AUD 80,000 per annum

Full Time Position: Approximately 38 hours per week.

The Knox Curry Club is currently seeking a skilled Cook to join its dynamic team at Wantirna South. The ideal candidate will have experience in the culinary industry and possess a passion for delivering delicious and high-quality dishes. This role involves a range of responsibilities centred around food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including Indian Cuisine and food items.
- Inspecting fresh and other ingredients to ensure quality, freshness, and compliance with food safety standards
- Monitoring and controlling temperatures of grills, fryers, steamers, and other cooking equipment
- Season appropriately using marinades, herbs, spices, and sauces during preparation and cooking
- Portioning dishes, plating meals attractively, and finishing with appropriate sauces, dressings, and garnishes
- Storing and perishable ingredients in temperature-controlled environments to maintain freshness and prevent contamination
- Preparing meals to meet specific dietary requirements, including allergies, gluten-free, and other preferences
- Assisting chefs with menu planning,



including selecting seasonal produce and estimating stock and portion requirements
- Supporting chefs in training kitchen staff and apprentices in seafood preparation techniques, hygiene standards, and kitchen operations

Qualifications and Skills:

- A minimum of one or more years of culinary experience in preparing dishes in a commercial setting.
- Atleast Certificate III in Commercial cookery or equivalent.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety standards in the kitchen, including food handling and sanitation practices.
- Proficient in culinary techniques and adept in operating kitchen equipment and tools.
- Meticulous in food preparation and presentation, with a robust focus on delivering high-quality dishes.
- Capable of interpreting recipes and menu plans accurately and creatively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
- Good physical stamina, capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen and standing for long hours.
