Key Responsibilities

1) Test Strategy & Governance

- Define and own the overall SAP test strategy, approach, and roadmap across the program lifecycle.

- Establish test governance frameworks, standards, entry/exit criteria, defect management, and quality metrics.

- Ensure testing aligns with SAP Activate, enterprise SDLC, and regulatory/compliance requirements.

- Provide executive-level reporting on test progress, quality risks, and release readiness.

2) End-to-End SAP Testing Leadership

- Lead testing across all phases, including:

o Unit & Functional Testing

o System Integration Testing (SIT)

o End-to-End Process Testing

o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

o Regression Testing

o Cutover & Production Readiness Testing

- Ensure end-to-end business process validation across SAP modules and integrated systems.

- Validate data migration, interfaces, security roles, workflows, and reporting as part of integrated testing.

3) SAP S/4HANA Program Delivery

- Provide testing leadership for:

o Greenfield, brownfield, or hybrid S/4HANA programs

o ECC to S/4HANA conversions and selective data transitions

- Ensure fit-to-standard testing approaches with appropriate coverage for SAP best practices.

- Coordinate testing across SAP core, SAP BTP, and non-SAP systems.

4) UAT & Business Engagement

- Own and drive UAT planning and execution, ensuring business readiness and acceptance.

- Work with business SMEs to:

o Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria

o Prepare test data and environments

o Manage UAT execution and defect triage

- Ensure UAT outcomes support go/no-go decisions.

Defect & Quality Management

- Establish defect management processes, severity models, and resolution SLAs.

- Lead defect triage forums with functional, technical, and integration teams.

- Ensure root cause analysis is performed for critical and recurring defects.

- Drive quality improvements and prevent defect leakage into production.

6) Test Automation & Tooling

- Define the test automation strategy for SAP (where applicable).

- Oversee use of SAP and third-party tools such as:

o SAP Solution Manager / Cloud ALM

o Test automation tools (e.g. Tricentis, Worksoft, similar)

- Balance manual vs automated testing based on risk, value, and program maturity.

7) Environment, Data & Release Readiness

- Coordinate test environment planning, refresh cycles, and data availability.

- Ensure test data supports realistic business scenarios and compliance needs.

- Lead production readiness assessments, including:

o Open defect position

o Regression coverage

o Business sign-off

o Cutover rehearsal outcomes

Required Skills & Experience

Core Experience

- 15+ years of testing experience with 5+ years in Test Director level.





- Extensive experience leading testing for large SAP programs, ideally SAP S/4HANA.

- Proven experience managing testing across multiple workstreams, vendors, and geographies.

SAP Knowledge

- Strong understanding of SAP landscapes, including:

o SAP S/4HANA (Finance and/or Logistics)

o SAP ECC (legacy environments)

o SAP Fiori, security roles, and authorisations

- End-to-end process knowledge across key SAP streams:

o Finance (RTR)

o Procure-to-Pay (P2P)

o Order-to-Cash (O2C)

o Plan-to-Produce (as applicable)

Integration & Data Testing

- Experience testing:

o SAP-to-SAP and SAP-to-non-SAP integrations

o Interfaces (APIs, IDocs, middleware)

o Data migration and reconciliation

- Understanding of reporting and analytics validation.

Qualifications (Preferred)

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.

- Certifications (desirable):

o ISTQB (Advanced / Test Manager)

o SAP S/4HANA (any module)

o SAP Activate or Agile/SAFe certifications
