Inclusive Living Support Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our team in Melbourne, Victoria. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing care, support and supervision to clients, including people with disability, in supported living, group housing or residential care environments.

The role requires a committed professional who can assess client needs, develop and implement support programs, monitor client progress, liaise with families and service providers, and promote client wellbeing, independence and community participation.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Provide care, supervision and practical support to clients, including people with disability, in supported living, group housing or residential care settings.
- Assess clients’ needs and assist in planning, developing and implementing educational, training, life skills and support programs.
- Interview clients and assess the nature and extent of their difficulties, support needs, goals and personal circumstances.
- Monitor and report on the progress, wellbeing and changing needs of clients.
- Refer clients to relevant agencies, health professionals, community services or support providers where additional assistance is required.
- Assess client and community needs in relation to health, welfare, housing, employment, training, social participation and other support services.
- Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies,



private businesses and other stakeholders regarding client support needs and available community resources.
- Promote awareness of community resources, support services and programs that assist clients to participate in community life.
- Support families and provide education, supervision and care for children or disabled persons in adult service units, group housing, supported living or other care environments.
- Assist clients, including young people where applicable, to address social, emotional, personal and financial challenges.
- Develop and maintain client support records, progress notes, incident reports and care-related documentation.
- Assist with preparing reports, funding submissions and resource requests for government bodies, service providers and other relevant agencies where required.
- Support clients with daily living activities, personal routines, community access, appointments and participation in recreational, educational or social activities.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, support coordinators, health professionals and internal team members to deliver safe and person-centred care.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with workplace policies, duty of care, safeguarding requirements,



privacy obligations and relevant health and safety standards.

Skills and Experience Required

The successful applicant must have:

- More than 1 year of relevant work experience in residential care, disability support, welfare support, community services, supported independent living, group housing or a similar care environment.
- Ability to assess client needs and contribute to the development and implementation of support programs.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care, disability support, safeguarding, duty of care and client confidentiality.
- Ability to monitor client progress, maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with families, carers, service providers and community organisations.
- Ability to support clients with complex needs in a respectful, professional and compassionate manner.
- Good problem-solving, organisation and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays where required.

Qualification Requirement

A Diploma or higher relevant qualification in Community Services, Disability, Individual Support, Youth Work, Welfare, Social Work or a related field is required.

Salary: $80,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation

Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week
