Salary range: $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation
About the Role:
Nabawa Valley Tavern is a well established and busy country pub in Nabawa, Western Australia. We are seeking a motivated Chef / Cook to join our friendly kitchen team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality pub meals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook and present menu items to a high standard
- Plan and organise food preparation for daily service periods
- Assist with menu planning and daily/weekly specials as required
- Ensure consistent portion control, quality and presentation standards
- Manage prep lists and coordinate timing during service
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with relevant requirements
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
- Minimise waste and support cost control through efficient kitchen practices
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service
- Assist with training and guidance of junior kitchen staff as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant trade qualification in commercial cookery (or equivalent)
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
- Strong organisation, reliability and teamwork skills
- Own transport required due to rural location
- Pub food experience preferred but not essential
