Wood Societe specialises in designing, building and installing custom cabinetry, windows, doors and other structures using the highest qualify fine carpentry and sustainable materials. We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team at Wood Societe' in Billinudgel, NSW. This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for constructing high-quality custom structures and fixtures, as well as installing them on-site for our clients, which also include woodworking renovation and repair. A strong component of this position is the use of fine Japanese carpentry in our production.
What you'll be doing
- Constructing custom woodworking projects to client specifications using woodworking machinery and hand tools
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans to ensure accurate fabrication
- Determining materials required for each project and cutting materials accordingly to minimise waste
- Preparing and finishing wood components by sanding and treating with stains, varnishes, and other treatments
- Safely transporting and installing completed projects at customer locations
- Undertaking custom woodworking repair and renovation work as part of the project
- Carrying out on-site carpentry adjustments to ensure correct fit for project installation
- Liaising with clients to understand their design requirements and provide feedback
- Maintaining a clean,
organised and safe workshop environment
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety guidelines
What we're looking for
- Certificate III or IV (or equivalent) in a related Carpentry/Woodworking discipline
- Minimum 1 years of carpentry experience or 3 years experience without qualifications
- Knowledge of fine Japanese carpentry techniques is preferred
- Proficient in operating a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools
- Solid attention to detail and ability to work from technical drawings and plans
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to collaborate with clients
- Proven track record of producing high-quality, bespoke cabinetry and furniture
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
