Hot Springs - Guest Service Attendant

Position Number: 272 Location: Cunnamulla

Award: Queensland Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) – State 2017

Certified Agreement: Paroo Shire Council – Non-Operational Staff Certified Agreement 2021-2024

Classification Level: 2.1 Employment Type: Permanent Part Time/Casual

Reports to: Hot Springs Team Leader Supervises: No direct reports

Position Objectives
The Guess Service Attendant is responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service and care to guests,
ensuring guests’ needs are consistently met throughout their visit, while effectively monitoring the experiences
throughout the facility, executing first aid as required and addressing any issues that arise. Working closely and
supporting the Team Leader to lead the operation as a world-class destination with an innovative tourism and community
culture, focusing on guest and employee wellbeing aligned to Paroo Shire Council core values and purpose.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide a high standard of customer service and ensure guests have a positive and enjoyable experience.

- Welcome guests, answer enquiries,



and provide information on facilities, products, packages, and experiences.
- Process guest admissions, bookings, retail sales, and point-of-sale transactions accurately.
- Undertake reception and administrative duties, including answering telephone and email enquiries.
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures in accordance with operating procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of pools, amenities, guest areas, and relaxation spaces.
- Monitor pool water quality, including temperature, chlorine levels, and general cleanliness.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of pools, change rooms, reception areas, and guest facilities.
- Complete daily cleaning, housekeeping, and presentation tasks to ensure facilities meet guest expectations.
- Assist with monitoring, testing and cleaning of pools as required.
- Assist with basic plant room operations, including safe manual handling and chemical handling activities.
- Report maintenance requirements, equipment faults, hazards, and safety concerns to the Team Leader.
- Administer first aid and respond to incidents and emergencies as required.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Follow up maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance requests to ensure facilities are guest-ready.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with guests, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively as part of a positive, customer-focused team environment.
- Provide feedback to the Team Leader regarding guest concerns, operational issues, and opportunities for

improvement.

- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the values and reputation of Cunnamulla Hot Springs.
- Undertake other duties within the scope, skills, and responsibilities of the position as directed by the Team Leader.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential

- ‘C’ Class Queensland Drivers Licence or higher.
- Hold or obtain a Working with Children 'Blue Card'.
- Pre-Employment Health Assessment and National Police Check prior to appointment.
- First Aid Certificate

Desirable
• Previous experience in a similar customer service orientated role including processing POS transactions

- Exceptional customer service and administration skills with ability to multi-task
- Lifesaving qualifications (or a willingness to obtain)
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail and prompt attention to guests
- Ability to work together as part of a dynamic team
- Demonstrate exceptional employee presentation standards
- Highly motivated, energetic, and hard working

- Maintain a positive attitude towards acquiring an understanding of work health and safety (WHS) legislation, including

Council WHS policies and procedures and foster and maintain a positive attitude towards WHS within the individual
work teams

- Taking reasonable care for your own health and safety, and that of others in the workplace.
- Ensure safe chemical, safe manual handling and incident reporting processes are followed.
