Steelworx is a leading supplier of retaining wall steel based in Cranbourne, and we're looking for a reliable, hardworking Yardman to join our team.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm

About the Role

This is a hands-on position working in our outdoor steel yard. You'll be responsible for safely handling materials, preparing customer orders and supporting the team with general yard operations

You'll be working independently for most of the day, so we're looking for someone who is self motivated, reliable, and able to manage their workload without constant supervision

This isn't always a fast paced environment. There will be times where there are quieter periods so the ability to stay productive and work unsupervised is significant.

Key Responsibilities

- Loading and unloading trucks using a forklift
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders
- Putting stock away and maintaining an organised yard
- Conducting daily forklift safety and pre-start checks
- General yard duties and housekeeping
- Basic welding and steel preparation as required
- Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
- Occasional local deliveries when required

Essential Requirements

- Current Forklift Licence




- Valid Australian drivers licence
- Welding experience
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable (but not essential)

- Steel industry knowledge or experience
- Light Rigid (LR) or Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence for occasional local deliveries

- You're happy working outdoors in all weather conditions – cold, wet mornings won't put you off.
- You take pride in your work and have a positive attitude.
- You're punctual, motivated and willing to get stuck in.
