As part of our ongoing commitment, we are expanding our team and inviting First Nations health professionals to apply for the following three key roles that will help shape the future of culturally responsive medical training in Australia:

About the role

Be a voice for First Nations registrars and support their training journey. This role involves working closely with First Nations trainees to ensure their experiences and perspectives shape ACRRM’s training programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide cultural oversight and guidance to Registrar Liaison support with a focus on provision of targeted support to first nations registrars in training.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to Registrar Liaison Officers on cultural safety protocols when working with registrars.
- Provide guidance to and oversight of the development of key support resources suitable to the support of registrars working in this space.




- Provide strategic insight to the Senior Cultural Advisor (and in turn the Indigenous Members Group and Executive) on improvements to delivery and key risks
- Build and maintain strong working relationship with JCTS and partnership agencies such as IGPTN and AIDA to strengthen First Nations supports and resources for First Nations registrars and to increase levels of culturally safe practice.

Reporting & Collaboration

This role reports to the National Lead Medical Educator - Cultural Education, and works in close partnership with the Training, Education and Assessment teams and external organisations including JCTS, AIDA and IGPTN. It will also extend to engagement with regional training stakeholders providing or impacting on GP training.

What We’re Looking For

1. Full unconditional medical registration with Australia Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA).
2. Identify as a First Nations person.
3. Be an active registrar within the ACRRM training program
4. Experience and understanding of the registrar training environment within a rural context.
5. Understands the requirements of ACRRM Fellowship Training Program.
