With a robust pipeline of work and a loyal customer base, they’re looking for a mechanically minded Machine Operator to join their workshop permanently.
This is a unique opportunity to learn a highly specialised trade skill on niche machinery, one that only a handful of manufacturers in Brisbane even use.
No installation work. No site hopping. Just steady workshop-based fabrication in an easy-going environment.

The Role
You’ll be working with steel coil fed through specialised machinery that forms flat sheet steel into spiral tubing and round ducting used across major commercial projects.
Products manufactured include:
- Spiral tubing and ducting
- Air conditioning ductwork
- Fume extraction systems
- Water pipelines
- Spiral welded pipes
Materials used:
- Galvanised steel
- Stainless steel
- Zincalume (used for downpipes and commercial building applications)
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Reading and interpreting job sheets
- Selecting the correct steel coil and material gauge
- Setting up and loading machinery
- Inputting measurements and machine parameters into the system
- Monitoring machine operation and product quality
- Material handling and workshop support
- Forklift operation- if held
This isn’t a push-button machine operator role. It takes skill, attention, and patience, but full training will be provided.
You’ll be personally trained by an industry veteran with over 50 years of experience, giving you the chance to learn from someone who truly knows the trade.
About You
We’re less concerned about direct machine experience and more interested in finding the right person.
You’ll ideally have:
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
- Forklift licence (preferred) or willingness to obtain one
- Experience working in a manufacturing or workshop environment
- Exposure to machine operation, steel fabrication, sheet metal, or welding (highly regarded)
- Ability to work independently and think on your feet
- Forklift licence (preferred) or willingness to obtain one
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights
