Location: Leppington, NSW

Date advertised: 23rd July 2026
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Closing Date: 12th August 2026
About Hope Anglican Church:
Hope Anglican Church is a growing church launched in 2017 that seeks to see the hope of Jesus in every home in Sydney’s new South-West. Our developing area requires a growing Ministry Team to see the people of the new South-West grow in Christlikeness.
About the Role:
We are looking for a full time Pastor to lead one of our morning congregations and direct the Mission Area of church. Currently we have approximately 700 adults and kids who call Hope Church Leppington their church.
Our church has experienced rapid growth over the last few years, and with additional Sunday services, expanding ministries, and Leppington Anglican College across the carpark, this role is vitally important to the mission and overall health of our church.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Being responsible for and pastoring one of our morning congregations, providing strategic leadership that encourages its members to grow in the seven areas of Christlikeness that we have committed to as a church.
- Working with the other Pastors and Ministry team members to see all the ministry areas of church thriving at the congregation you are responsible for.
- Preaching at our Sunday services (approx. once every 4 weeks to begin).
- Working with the Senior Pastor in developing short-term and long-term mission strategies, especially considering the growing suburb. Leppington and surrounds are predicted to double and potentially triple in population over the next 15 years.
- Leading our LIFE Mission Team, and our More to Life ministry.
- Taking responsibility in following up the weekly newcomers who do not yet call Jesus their Lord and Saviour.
- Leading and directing our “Little Lambs” playgroup team, which can see over 100 parents, grandparents,
and toddlers each week.
- Promoting and growing our church’s support of external mission partners, especially our Church Missionary Society missionaries.
- The potential to build and grow a team to reach the local aged care communities.
- The openness to leading one of our mission orientated Kids’ Ministry teams.
- Reporting directly to the Senior Pastor.
The successful applicant will be someone who is…
- A committed disciple of Jesus who is mature and godly and has a heart for the lost who do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
- Theologically trained (preferably from Moore Theological College).
- A person of Christian character who holds to Reformed Evangelical and Complementarian convictions. This person will therefore be a male, given the congregational preaching responsibilities.
- Pastorally minded, with a great desire for the pastoral care of individuals.
- A “multiplier” of ministry by building, leading, and training team leaders and leaders of leaders.
- Experienced in strategic thinking, planning, and implementation.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple and competing deadlines.
- Able to contribute to a healthy team culture and is a team player with good interpersonal skills.
Highly desirable…
- Experience within Sydney Anglican churches.
- Ordained in Sydney Anglican Diocese with a Moore Theological degree.
- This position is full time and offered with remuneration and benefits as articulated in the Sydney Anglican Diocese Remuneration Guidelines.

To apply, please provide your resume, along with a short description of how you came to call Jesus your Lord and Saviour and how you have grown as a Christian in the last 12 to 24 months.
