We currently have a casual Support Worker position available in the Katoomba area.

Employment status: Casual with an opportunity for permanent part-time for suitable candidates.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Domestic assistance: help with general house cleaning, meal prep, laundry, etc.
- Social support: assist with travel for appointments, shopping, and outings.
- Personal care: assist with showering, toileting, transferring, incontinence care, feeding, and assistance with mobility and physical exercise, etc.
- Medication prompting and supervision.
- Companionship and dementia care.
- Monitoring and reporting the client’s progress and health status and document
- Attending training and meetings as required

Essential criteria:

- Certificate III in Individual Care (Preferred but not mandatory).
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Own Car with Comprehensive Insurance
- Current First Aid Certificate
- National Police Certificate
- Evidence of Flu and COVID-19 (minimum 2 doses) vaccination

Selection criteria:

The successful candidates should have:

- Motivation and commitment to caring for elderly people




- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to deal with challenging behaviour
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Smartphone with Internet Access
- Must be flexible with hours.
- Previous experience as a support worker in the Aged Care/Community Sector is preferable – not essential.
