Role Purpose

The ICT Business Development Manager will identify, develop and manage commercial opportunities for ICT and digital business solutions. The role is responsible for understanding client technology requirements, promoting ICT services, preparing solution proposals, managing client relationships, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to support successful delivery of digital and technology-enabled business solutions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Identify and develop new business opportunities for ICT, digital transformation, software, web, automation, IT support and business process technology services.
- Research target markets, industry trends, competitor activity and client requirements to support ICT business growth strategies.
- Engage with prospective and existing clients to understand ICT needs, operational challenges and opportunities for technology-enabled improvement.
- Prepare ICT solution proposals, presentations, business cases, quotes and service scope documents in consultation with technical and management teams.
- Promote the organisation's ICT and digital services to clients, partners and stakeholders through professional consultation and relationship management.
- Manage the business development pipeline, including lead generation, qualification, follow-up, negotiation support and conversion reporting.
- Coordinate with technical teams, consultants, vendors and service partners to ensure proposed ICT solutions are commercially viable and deliverable.
- Support contract discussions, client onboarding, implementation planning and post-sale client relationship management for ICT service engagements.
- Maintain CRM records, sales forecasts, client communication records and management reports relating to ICT business development activities.
- Develop strategic partnerships and referral channels for ICT services, digital solutions, remote staffing,



outsourcing and business process support.
- Monitor project and client feedback to identify service improvements, renewal opportunities and additional ICT solution requirements.
- Ensure business development activities comply with company policies, ethical standards and applicable employment, privacy and commercial obligations.

Required Experience

- Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in business development, sales, client relationship management, management consulting, project coordination or a closely related commercial role.
- At least two (2) years of the total experience must be closely related to ICT business development, ICT sales, digital solutions, technology services, software/web solutions, IT outsourcing, business process technology or digital transformation services.
- Demonstrated experience identifying client ICT needs, preparing commercial proposals and supporting the sale or delivery of ICT/digital services.
- Experience working with technical teams, vendors, consultants or project delivery teams to translate client requirements into practical ICT service solutions.
- Experience using CRM systems, market research, sales reporting, stakeholder management and business communication tools.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor degree or higher in Business, Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Digital Business, Project Management or a closely related field. An MBA or postgraduate business qualification is highly regarded.




- Strong understanding of ICT services, digital transformation, technology-enabled business solutions and commercial proposal development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional proposals, reports and client presentations.
- Robust analytical, negotiation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and coordinate with internal and external teams in a professional environment.

Selection Criteria

- Proven ability to generate and manage ICT-related business development opportunities.
- Strong commercial understanding of client needs, solution scoping and ICT service delivery requirements.
- Ability to build long-term client relationships and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to prepare high-quality proposals, reports and business cases for ICT/digital services.
- Ability to contribute to business growth, market expansion and service improvement strategies.

Employment Conditions

This is a full-time position based in Canberra, ACT. Primary location: Canberra, ACT. The employee may be required to work from other Australian locations if required by the employer due to business or project needs. The employee will work 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Remuneration is AUD 150,000 gross per annum plus superannuation, subject to final employment agreement. The role is intended to support ongoing ICT business development and digital solutions growth for the business.
