This role is for a agile, energetic collaborator who is willing to join our fish shop on a casual basis. The key role is to provide excellent customer service and assistance with preparation of seafood products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer service (greet customers, assist them with any queries and questions)
- Look after display appearance and stock rotation
- Process payments by using cash register and POS
- Assist with fish trimming, de-boning, and portioning
- Assist with preparation of seafood products (chowder, pies, fishcakes, salads etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness in the store, including the kitchen, as well as outside areas.
Skills and experience
- Proficient in English (both verbal and written)
- Excellent communication skills with good phone manners
- Strong customer experience focus
- Understanding the importance of health, safety and hygiene (food safety certificate advantageous)
- Proven ability to work autonomously as well as being a collaborator.
- Physically fit (be able to work long hours on feet and to lift up to 20kg).
- Previous food retail and/or food preparation experience is essential.
- Be able to work in a busy environment and under pressure.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential.
