Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of our homework club, supporting students from refugee and migrant backgrounds with literacy, numeracy and study skills, whilst leading and building a team of volunteers, placement students and tutors around them.
Program Coordination
● Promote the program within the community to attract students
● Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local schools, parents and volunteers
● Set up and maintain program venues
● Prepare study materials, lesson plans and back-up learning activities for students
● Record student and volunteer attendance
● Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation activities and provide reports each term
● Undertake program risk assessments
● Implement child safety procedures, monitor child safety in the program, and escalate child safety issues in line with ASPYA Foundation policies and procedures
Student Management
● Monitor student progress and ensure active engagement in learning activities
● Develop positive relationships with students and their families
● Facilitate a welcoming, fun and protected environment for students
● Maintain student profiles and ensure parents complete and sign consent forms
Volunteer Management
● Advertise, screen, select and induct volunteers in line with ASPYA Foundation policy
● Ensure all volunteers hold current Working with Children Checks and Police Checks, and abide by the program's Code of Conduct
● Identify professional development opportunities for volunteers
● Match volunteers and students according to skills, abilities and student comfort
● Provide support and supervision to volunteers as required
Interviews will be held in the week of the 3rd of August with a tentative commencement date of the 17th of August.
Pay: $40.17 per hour
