The Position

Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced senior engineering manager to join our busy Wagga Wagga office. We are looking for a highly capable and motivated professional who can confidently manage projects, provide technical oversight, and mentor junior engineers in a cooperative team environment.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified civil engineer with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including strong design capabilities and a proven ability to lead and deliver projects independently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is ready to transition from hands-on design work to a broader management and leadership position. The workload will be approximately 50% design and 50% project management and supervision, providing a balanced mix of technical engagement and strategic oversight.

Our projects span residential, commercial, and industrial developments, as well as subdivisions and land development. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing success and growth of a respected regional consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage civil engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Undertake and review design work to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Check and approve design documentation and drawings prior to issue.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring,



and support to junior and graduate engineers.
- Oversee project delivery to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Manage workloads, priorities, and resources across multiple ongoing projects.
- Attend site inspections and provide technical input during construction, as required.

Position Requirements

- A degree in civil engineering.
- 10+ years’ experience in the Australian industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards.
- Be a member of Engineers Australia.
- Experience with SpaceGass, AutoCad, 12d, Drains, Inducta suite, TEDDS, and Microstran.
- A desire to move from purely design work to design and project management.
- Proven ability to review and verify the work of others, ensuring the accuracy and quality of design documentation prior to issue.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Relocation for employment – this is a permanent position in our Wagga Wagga office.
