About the Role:

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing Allied Health team based in Tamworth.

In this role, you will support individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern by developing, implementing, and reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs). Your work will focus on improving quality of life, promoting independence, and reducing restrictive practices through evidence-based, person-centred approaches.

You will work across a diverse client group, providing therapeutic support, guidance, and training to individuals, families, carers, and support teams.

Duties:

- Develop, implement, and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)
- Provide evidence-based strategies to support individuals with complex behaviours
- Deliver training and guidance to staff, families, and carers
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments
- Support reduction and elimination of restrictive practices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or a related field
- Current Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP) registration, or demonstrated eligibility to obtain registration.
- Experience developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with disability, mental health, or complex behavioural needs




- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Current Driver’s Licence, Working With Children Check, NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check, and National Police Check.

Desirable:

- Experience within the Out of Home Care sector
- Experience working in Mental Health settings
- Experience providing behaviour support supervision
- Strong group facilitation and training skills
