Second-Year Plumbing Apprentice – Heat Pumps and Hot Water

Jeztek Plumbing and Heat Pump Central are seeking a motivated second-year plumbing apprentice who has completed a Certificate II in Plumbing and is ready to continue developing their skills in a professional, growing business.

This is a hands-on role working alongside experienced licensed plumbers across residential and light commercial projects, with a strong focus on heat pump hot water installations, hot water replacements, water services and general plumbing work.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work and wants to build a long term career in the plumbing industry.

About the Role

You will assist qualified plumbers with:

- Installation of heat pump and conventional hot water systems
- General plumbing installations, servicing and repairs
- Measuring, cutting, bending and joining copper, PEX and PVC pipework
- Installing valves, tempering valves, fittings and water services
- Removing and disposing of existing hot water systems
- Preparing tools, equipment and materials for each job
- Testing pipework and checking for leaks under supervision
- Loading and unloading vehicles and equipment
- Maintaining clean, safe and organised worksites
- Completing job photos and basic documentation using ServiceM8
- Attending trade school and completing all apprenticeship requirements

As your skills and competency develop, you will be given greater responsibility while continuing to work under the appropriate supervision of licensed plumbers.

About You

To be considered, you must:

- Be a registered second-year plumbing apprentice
- Have completed Certificate II in Plumbing or an equivalent pre-apprenticeship
- Be enrolled in Certificate III in Plumbing
- Hold a current White Card
- Hold a current Victorian driver licence
- Be reliable, punctual and ready to work




- Be physically capable of carrying equipment and working in varied site conditions
- Be willing to travel throughout Melbourne, Geelong and surrounding areas
- Be willing to complete reasonable overtime when required
- Have a strong commitment to workplace safety
- Be able to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

- Hot water system installations
- Heat pump hot water systems
- Copper pipework and press-fit systems
- General maintenance plumbing
- Use of hand tools and power tools
- Residential plumbing work
