We are currently seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join our team on the P250 Project at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) in Gladstone.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with a strong background in earthworks, civil construction and heavy machinery operations to join a major local project.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating daily earthworks operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. You will provide leadership to site crews, coordinate plant and resources, and maintain strong communication with both the project team and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead earthworks crews on site.
- Coordinate daily work activities, plant and personnel.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications.
- Promote and maintain AESTEC's strong safety culture.
- Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and safety observations.
- Monitor productivity, quality and project progress.
- Liaise with project management, clients and subcontractors.
- Complete daily reports,
timesheets and project documentation.
- Mentor and support team members to achieve project outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leading hand role within earthworks or civil construction.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Extensive experience operating heavy earthmoving equipment.
- Robust understanding of earthworks methodologies and construction practices.
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to safety, problem solving and continuous improvement.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with crews, clients and stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
- Construction White Card.
- Demonstrated machinery operating experience.
- Current Blue 3 Site MediPass, or the ability to successfully obtain one.
- Ability to obtain and maintain QAL site access.
- Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental compliance.
