LBS (Local Bottle Store) is an independent, locally run bottle shop in the heart of Brunswick. We're part of a small Melbourne hospitality group that cares about good drinks, good people, and knowing our regulars by name. Our range spans everything from everyday favourites to compelling local and imported wines, craft beer, and spirits and we love helping people find the right thing for the occasion.
The role
We're on the lookout for a friendly, reliable Casual Bottle Shop Attendant to join our team. This is a customer-facing role where you'll be the face of the store: serving customers, keeping the shop looking sharp, and making sure everything runs smoothly on shift. Shifts are across the week and will include evenings and weekends.
What you'll be doing
- Providing warm, knowledgeable service and helping customers find what they're after
- Operating the POS (Square), handling card transactions accurately
- Checking ID and serving alcohol responsibly at all times
- Restocking shelves and fridges, rotating stock, and keeping displays neat and well-faced
- Receiving and putting away deliveries
- Keeping the shop clean, tidy and well-presented throughout your shift
- Assisting with stocktake and general store duties as needed
- Using some lifting machinery may be required (Forklift, Pallet Jack etc)
- Following all liquor licensing and responsible service requirements
What we're looking for
- A current Victorian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate — or willingness to obtain one before starting
- A genuine, approachable manner and great customer service
- Reliability and a strong sense of ownership over your shifts
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team
- Able to handle the physical side of the role (lifting cartons, standing for extended periods)
- Availability across weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Some retail, hospitality or bottle shop experience is a bonus but attitude matters most
- Must be 18 years or over (legal requirement to serve packaged liquor)
- Full working rights in Australia
