Job Vacancy: Casual SIL Support Worker — Thomastown

Position: Casual Supported Independent Living (SIL) Support Worker
Location: Thomastown, VIC
Hours: 2:1 support shifts, including active day shifts and inactive overnight (sleepover) shifts. Ongoing casual position with opportunities for regular hours.

About the Role

Resilient Life Care is seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Support Workers to join our team in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Thomastown.

This role involves providing 2:1 support to participants within a shared living environment, assisting them to build independence while ensuring their daily support needs are met. The successful applicant will be committed to delivering person-centred care, promoting choice and dignity, and supporting participants to achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Providing personal care and daily living supports within the SIL home
- Assisting participants with transfers using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment
- Supporting participants with meal preparation and household tasks
- Facilitating community access, appointments, shopping, and recreational activities
- Encouraging independence, skill development, and participation in daily routines
- Maintaining accurate shift notes and reporting any changes in participant wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with other support workers to provide consistent 2:1 support
- Completing inactive overnight (sleepover)



shifts as rostered and responding to participant needs when required

Essential Requirements

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current National Police Check
- Valid Victorian Driver Licence
- Experience working in Supported Independent Living or disability support
- Experience assisting with transfers and manual handling (hoist experience highly regarded)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality supports
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and inactive overnight shifts

Desirable

- Experience supporting participants with complex physical support needs
- Manual Handling and Medication Administration training
- Availability to work flexible shifts across a 24/7 roster
