What you'll be doing
The Orthopaedic Surgery Unaccredited Trainee is expected to provide effective surgical care to patients under supervision in complex clinical setting. The position is designed to benefit a Medical Officer who wishes to pursue a career in Orthopaedic Surgery and develop an understanding of the broad range of pathology relevant to Orthopaedics.

The Orthopaedic Surgery Unaccredited Trainee reports to the Head of Department Orthopaedics. All medical officers in the Department of Orthopaedics are under the direct supervision of the Surgeons working clinically that day. The Trainees will be expected to assist the Consultant Surgeon in supervising the junior staff in the department.

The position is based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and one of Australia’s leading hospitals. Research is strongly encouraged.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.

- Minimum 3 years postgraduate experience.

- Demonstrated appropriate clinical experience in Orthopaedics and a strong interest in Orthopaedics.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex clinical environment.

- Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.

- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills in a clinical setting.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Preparedness and ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
