The Employer:

Pine Grove Trust operates a family-owned, highly productive and modern 2,100 Ha mixed farming enterprise situated at "Yamba" near Caramut, Victoria. The business balances a robust 1,000 Ha cropping program with a substantial livestock footprint consisting of 800 cattle and 2,000 crossbred ewes. The management team takes immense pride in maintaining a collaborative, secure, and progressive work environment, heavily supported by modern John Deere machinery and well-structured operational systems.

Our client seeks an experienced, reliable, and highly practical Assistant Manager to play a pivotal role in the daily operations. Working closely alongside the Owner and Farm Manager, you will be deeply involved in implementing our extensive cropping program and managing all aspects of livestock husbandry.

This hands-on position requires a competent individual who can operate heavy machinery safely, maintain a strong work ethic, and strictly adhere to safe working practices. An HC truck licence is highly advantageous, as is the ability to seamlessly transition between all the tasks required for broadacre cropping and intensive livestock management of sheep and cattle.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who possesses a genuine passion for agriculture and a desire to grow within a high-performing enterprise. Additionally, you should possess the following attributes:

- Proven hands-on experience operating heavy agricultural machinery and modern tractors.
- Competence and practical experience in handling both sheep and cattle husbandry.
- An HC or MC truck license (highly desirable) and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Exceptional practical skills, a good work ethic, and the ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
- A proactive mindset with a steadfast commitment to safe working practices.
- Working dogs encouraged.
- Flexibility with working hours during the seasonal times (lambing, calving, harvest).
