RBH Directional Drilling Services is seeking experienced and motivated Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Operators to join our growing team.

We are looking for skilled HDD operators with demonstrated experience operating directional drilling rigs, locating and steering drill heads, reading utility plans and construction drawings, and delivering safe, accurate underground installations. Experience in telecommunications, power, water and civil utility infrastructure is highly regarded, along with vacuum excavation, service locating and excavator operation.

Our projects span underground utility installations, telecommunications, power, water and civil infrastructure works throughout the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia.

The Role

As an HDD Operator, you will be responsible for:

- Operating horizontal directional drilling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Locating and steering drill heads using electronic guidance systems.
- Reading construction drawings, DBYD plans and utility service information.
- Installing telecommunications, power, water and other underground utility infrastructure.
- Carrying out potholing and exposing existing services where required.
- Completing pre-start inspections, maintenance and daily project documentation.
- Working closely with supervisors,



clients and other contractors to deliver projects safely and on schedule.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance.

Essential Requirements

- Demonstrated experience operating Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment, supported by a nationally recognised Certificate in Horizontal Directional Drilling or Certificate in Trenchless Technology.
- Demonstrated experience locating and tracking HDD bores, supported by nationally recognised training in Identify, Locate and Protect Underground Assets.
- Current White Card.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Current HR Driver's Licence (preferred).
- Strong understanding of underground utility installation and safe excavation practices.
- Ability to interpret construction plans and underground service information.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Willingness to work overtime and undertake regional work when required.

Desirable Qualifications

- Excavator Ticket and experience.
- Confined Space Ticket.
- Working at Heights Ticker.
- Traffic Management qualifications.
- Experience working on nbn, Western Power, Water Corporation or major civil infrastructure projects.

Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour

Experience:

- Directional Drilling: 2 years (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- certificate in HDD Operations or Trenchless Technology (Required)

- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
