Burpengary

Little Lamb Burpengary is a much-loved Mediterranean and Spanish-inspired bar & grill, known locally for hearty share platters, tapas, breakfast favourites and a warm, community-focused atmosphere. We use fresh, quality, locally sourced ingredients to bring traditional Mediterranean and Spanish flavours to life with a modern twist, and we're proud of the loyal following we've built across the Burpengary community.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Cook to join our busy kitchen team and help us continue delivering the quality and consistency our customers love. You'll prepare and cook a diverse menu spanning breakfast dishes, tapas, share platters and mains — including gluten-free options — working closely with our head chef to keep service running smoothly during busy trade.

Key Responsibilities

● Check and inspect incoming food supplies and ingredients to confirm freshness and quality before use

● Set and monitor temperatures on ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment to suit each dish

● Prepare ingredients and dishes ahead of service, including breakfast items, tapas, share platters and mains

● Cook menu items using a range of techniques such as baking, grilling, frying, braising and roasting, in line with Little Lamb's recipes and presentation standards

● Plate and garnish dishes with sauces, dressings and accompaniments to the standard expected by guests

● Prepare dishes to meet special dietary requirements, including gluten-free requests

● Store all food items correctly in temperature-controlled fridges and freezers to maintain food safety

● Receive, check and store incoming stock and supplies

● Keep all kitchen and food preparation areas clean, organised and compliant with food safety and hygiene standards

● Assist with menu planning and estimating food quantities required for service

● Support and guide junior kitchen staff and apprentices during shifts

About You

● Previous experience of more than 12 months as a Cook in a busy restaurant, café or bar & grill environment

● A Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

● Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen safety practices

● Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services

● A team player with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for food

● Flexibility to work diverse shifts, including weekends and public holidays

● Experience with Mediterranean, Spanish or share-plate style cuisine highly regarded

What We Offer

● A supportive, close-knit team in a well-established, community-loved venue

● The opportunity to work with a diverse, from-scratch menu across breakfast, tapas and share plates
