Duties and Responsibilities

As a valued member of our Toddlers Room team, you will play an important role in creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can thrive. Working collaboratively with the Room Leader and wider team,



your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the implementation of high-quality early childhood programs guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Building warm, respectful, and meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the wider community
- Creating engaging, play-based learning environments that reflect children’s strengths, interests, cultures, and developmental needs
- Supporting children to develop confidence, independence, wellbeing, and a strong sense of belonging
- Contributing to observations, documentation, and reflective practices that support each child’s learning journey
- Ensuring children’s health, safety, wellbeing, and supervision are maintained at all times in line with National Regulations and service policies
- Working collaboratively within a positive team culture that values professionalism, inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement
- Promoting inclusive practices and supporting the rights, voices, and agency of all children
- Assisting in maintaining inviting indoor and outdoor environments that encourage exploration, creativity, and sustainability
- Contributing to the centre’s commitment to leadership, reconciliation, child safety, sustainability, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participating in professional development,



reflective practice, and ongoing learning opportunities
- Upholding the centre philosophy, policies, procedures, and National Quality Framework requirements in daily practice

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- A genuine passion for early childhood education and providing high-quality care for children aged 0–5 years
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA approved equivalent)
- Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), and National Regulations
- Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning approaches
- Ability to build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a collaborative and professional approach
- Commitment to child safety, inclusion, diversity, and children’s rights
- Confidence contributing to observations, documentation, and reflective practice
- Ability to work effectively within a rapid-paced team environment while maintaining high standards of supervision and care
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Previous experience working in an early childhood setting will be highly regarded
- 3+ years experience as a qualified
