This is an excellent opportunity to join The University of Queensland and Redland Hospital as a 0.5 FTE Academic Registrar.

Working alongside a highly supportive University of Queensland and Redland Hospital team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality education for UQ medical students undertaking clinical placements across multiple hospital departments. The role provides valuable experience in undergraduate medical education, including student teaching, assessment, and curriculum delivery.

You will also have opportunities to become involved in research and scholarly activities, enabling you to develop your academic portfolio and strengthen your curriculum vitae for future training and career opportunities.

This position is particularly well suited to doctors intending to pursue specialist training program, providing a strong foundation in medical education, leadership, and academic practice. It is equally ideal for early-career doctors who are interested in exploring and developing a career in medical education and academia.

Your new role:
The Education Registrar will contribute to the teaching, assessment and development of medical students across the Redland Hospital Campus, delivering engaging clinical education experiences through bedside teaching, tutorials, student supervision and assessment activities. Working collaboratively with clinicians and academic teams,



this role supports the ongoing enhancement of medical education programs while contributing to research, quality improvement and strong partnerships between healthcare and education providers. The position may also provide opportunities to undertake medical duties within Redland Hospital.

You are a passionate medical professional with a solid commitment to education, clinical excellence and developing the next generation of healthcare practitioners. You bring the ability to engage, inspire and support medical students while working collaboratively with academic teams and hospital clinicians to deliver high-quality learning experiences. You will have:

Demonstrated clinical experience and a passion for teaching and mentoring medical students.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse learners and clinical stakeholders.
Experience contributing to clinical education, assessment activities or curriculum development.
A commitment to continuous improvement, research, professional development and quality healthcare.
The ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating professionalism, integrity and a patient-focused approach.
