Instrumentation Chemist

The Role & Your Impact

As an Analytical Instrumentation Chemist, your primary focus is to ensure all laboratory instruments are implemented, trained on, maintained, and kept in a fully validated state.

In this role, you will manage calibration schedules, troubleshoot equipment issues, and serve as a technical subject matter expert across our scientific laboratories. Working closely with QA, Stability, QC, and R&D;, you will draft critical instrumentation documentation, train laboratory staff, and support analytical method validation to ensure reliable laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Instrumentation Support: Execute the calibration, qualification, and maintenance schedule while delivering staff training and troubleshooting equipment issues.

- Documentation & Governance: Prepare and update SOPs, instrument methods, training guides,



and maintenance records in a timely manner.

- Investigations & Compliance: Review instrumentation incident reports, assist with root-cause investigations, and implement effective CAPAs.

- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with Analytical Services, Stability, QC, Microbiology, R&D;, and QA.

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

Essential Requirements:

- Technical Experience: Proven background operating, maintaining, and qualifying analytical laboratory instrumentation.

- Documentation Skills: Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing SOPs, instrument calibration records, and method documentation.

- Safety Leadership: A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and compliantly.

- 4+ yrs experience

- Applicants must possess valid Australian working rights.

Desirable Requirements:

- Troubleshooting Capability: Ability to investigate instrument failures, resolve technical issues, and support CAPA implementation.

- Continuous Improvement: Experience applying Lean principles or continuous improvement initiatives in a laboratory setting.
