We are currently seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to join our Victorian team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety professional who enjoys building robust relationships, influencing positive safety outcomes and working collaboratively with project teams to deliver best practice health, safety and environmental performance.
The Opportunity
As a Senior HSE Advisor, you will partner closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and site teams to drive a proactive safety culture across construction projects from commencement through to completion.
You will provide expert advice, coaching and support while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, company standards and client expectations. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of complex construction projects while contributing to the continuous improvement of our HSE systems and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical HSE advice and support to project teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Promote and embed a positive safety culture through visible leadership, coaching and engagement.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Lead and support incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
- Facilitate inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing safety training initiatives.
- Review and monitor SWMS, risk assessments and other project safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, company procedures and client expectations.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reporting and project documentation.
- Support subcontractor management and monitor safety performance on site.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the broader HSE function.
About You
You are an experienced construction safety professional who enjoys being visible on site, building relationships and influencing positive behaviours.
You'll also bring:
- Minimum five years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role within the construction industry.
- Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contractor.
- Demonstrated experience supporting medium to large scale commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience conducting incident investigations, audits and compliance reporting.
- Ability to build trust and influence positive safety outcomes across all levels of a project team.
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Experience across sectors such as health, commercial, education, defence, industrial or data centres will be highly regarded.
