Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Lucas Gardens School is a School for Specific Purposes (SSP) located in Canada Bay. We provide high-quality educational programs for students aged 5 to 18 years with a range of complex learning and support needs. Many of our students present with multiple diagnosed disabilities, including moderate to severe intellectual disability, physical disability, sensory impairments, complex behaviour needs, complex medical and health needs. The school has an enrolment of 77 students including 70% from a language background other than English and 1% Aboriginal student.

Our dedicated and highly skilled staff bring extensive expertise in special education, supporting every student to access learning in a way that meets their individual needs. Teaching and learning at Lucas Gardens School is aligned with the NSW Department of Education curriculum and is designed to ensure equity, excellence, and engagement for all students.

We believe every student has the capacity to learn, grow and succeed. Our educational programs are differentiated and individualised, promoting access to all Key Learning Areas. We are a PBL school and use the Zones of Regulation.

Selection Criteria





- Approved to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with diverse learning needs

such as moderate and severe intellectual disability, autism, complex health and behaviour needs across K -12.

- Ability to develop, implement and monitor personalised learning plans, behaviour support plans and health support plans across K-12.

- Ability to implement and assess effective literacy and numeracy programs across K-12.

- Well developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills to engage proactively and professionally with students, staff

parents/carers and external providers.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
