Pastry Cook

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and reliable Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and producing a range of high-quality pastries, desserts and baked goods while maintaining excellent food safety and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, bake and finish a variety of pastries, cakes, muffins, cookies, buns and other baked products in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
- Check the quality of ingredients and raw materials, accurately measure and prepare ingredients for daily production requirements.
- Prepare doughs, batters, pastry fillings, creams, custards and other pastry components, including mixing, kneading, shaping and portioning products.
- Monitor baking processes, including oven temperatures, baking times and product appearance, to ensure consistency and quality.
- Decorate and finish cakes, pastries and desserts using creams, icings, glazes and other decorative techniques.




- Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment, including mixers, ovens and dough-processing machinery, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure all equipment, workstations and food preparation areas are cleaned and maintained in accordance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Assist with receiving, storing and rotating ingredients and supplies while maintaining product freshness and minimising waste.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant qualification in Patisserie, Commercial Cookery or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 1 year experience preparing a variety of pastry and dessert products in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
