About the Roles

Urban Buddy Care is expanding and we are seeking reliable, grounded and compassionate male Support Workers for permanent part-time positions.

Due to participant preferences and support requirements, these roles are specifically suited to male support workers with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust, structure and consistency.

We are currently hiring for:

- Lead Male Support Worker (home-based, long-term participant)
- Male Support Workers (flexible shifts across multiple participants)

These are ongoing positions with stable, consistent hours — not casual or short-term work.

Mental Health Experience is Essential

A strong background in mental health support, psychosocial disability, behavioural support, trauma-informed care, or complex support environments is considered critical for these roles.

We are looking for support workers who can remain calm under pressure, communicate professionally, maintain healthy boundaries, and provide steady, participant-focused support in challenging situations when required.

Experience working with participants who experience:

- Anxiety
- Depression
- PTSD or trauma backgrounds
- Emotional regulation challenges
- Psychosocial disabilities
- Complex behaviours

will be highly regarded.

Lead Role (Home-Based)

Support one primary participant with ongoing 24/7 support needs, including personal care and hygiene assistance.

You’ll become part of a small, consistent team focused on routine, trust, stability, and long-term support outcomes.

This is a senior-style role requiring previous industry experience and the ability to step into the role confidently from day one.

Ideal if you:

- Have solid experience in disability, mental health, aged care, or high-care support
- Are confident and professional with personal care and hygiene support
- Can build rapport while maintaining strong boundaries
- Value routine, consistency,



and long-term participant relationships
- Work well independently and as part of a close team

Flexible Support Roles

Work across multiple participants in home and community-based settings.

Support may include:

- Community access and social support
- Emotional and behavioural support
- Daily living assistance
- Personal care (depending on participant needs)
- Supporting routines, appointments and independence goals

These roles suit support workers who enjoy variety while still wanting stable, ongoing part time hours.

What You’ll Bring

- Experience in mental health, disability, aged care, youth work, community services, or similar fields
- A calm, professional and dependable approach
- Strong communication and emotional intelligence
- Confidence with personal care or willingness to be trained
- Ability to work independently and manage challenging situations appropriately
- A genuine commitment to participant-focused support

Backgrounds in:

- Mental health support
- Youth work
- Behaviour support
- Aged care
- Nursing
- Corrections or emergency services
- High-care environments

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Blue Card (QLD)
- First Aid & CPR
- Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
