Clinical Trials Project Manager – ERAS+
Fixed-term, Part-time role - 64 hours per fortnight.
Up to $96,570.76 (HS5) - $106,759.12 (HS33) base salary per annum - Full-Time equivalent pro-rated for Part-Time.

The Role
The Clinical Trials Project Manager will provide dedicated project management support for the ERAS+ Trial, a large investigator-led, multi-site implementation trial. Working closely with investigators, research teams and key stakeholders, the successful candidate will coordinate study start-up activities, sponsorship, ethics and governance submissions, site activation, regulatory compliance, project reporting and financial management to ensure the trial is delivered in accordance with approved timelines and regulatory requirements.
This is a fixed-term, 0.8 EFT position (64 hours per fortnight) based in Melbourne. The position reports directly to the Research Manager – Division of Surgery and works closely with the study leadership team, Director of Anaesthetics and Senior Research Manager, Clinical Research Unit.
Applicants should have demonstrated experience in clinical trial coordination, project management or health research, including managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. Experience with clinical trial start-up, ethics and governance submissions, site management and regulatory compliance will be highly regarded.

Position Summary
The Clinical Trials Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of clinical research projects and clinical trials, including complex multi-site studies. The role has primary responsibility for ensuring studies are delivered in compliance with regulatory requirements, within budget, and in accordance with approved protocols and timelines, including proactive management of risks, issues and study performance.
The Project Manager works closely with investigators, CRU research teams, and key stakeholders, and acts as a central point of coordination and escalation for study activities across sites.
This role requires a high level of organisational capability, independent judgement and operational autonomy, particularly in the delivery of large investigator-led trials. This may include responsibility for the delivery of large, multi-site and methodologically complex trials (e.g., cluster randomised or implementation studies), requiring coordination across diverse health service settings and adaptive management of study activities.

Essential
Relevant tertiary qualification in health, science, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in managing clinical trials, including multi-site studies and/or complex clinical research project management
Strong knowledge of clinical trial regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Proven experience in budget development, financial tracking, and resource management
Experience in research monitoring and quality assurance processes
Experience contributing to or developing clinical research protocols
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
Desirable
Post-graduate qualification is desirable, but not essential.
Experience in oncology or a related clinical specialty
Familiarity with institutional and ethics governance processes
Experience in grant writing and/or contributing to successful research funding applications
