CD Management Pty Ltd, trading as RONG SICHUAN, is a well-established boutique Chinese restaurant offering full table service with a focus on authentic Sichuan cuisine. We are proud to be a trusted local favourite, known for our high-quality food and attentive service. Due to strong business growth and ongoing operational needs, we are seeking to strengthen our kitchen team.

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Cook for our vibrant restaurant located in Shop 1/140 Cotham Rd, Kew VIC 3101 to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook authentic Sichuan dishes using traditional cooking techniques, recipes and fresh ingredients.
- Examine and prepare meat, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients to ensure quality and freshness before cooking.
- Season food and regulate cooking temperatures to achieve consistent flavour, texture and presentation.
- Portion and present dishes in accordance with the restaurant's quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas and comply with food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Store ingredients appropriately and monitor stock levels, reporting shortages to senior kitchen staff.
- Assist with menu preparation, daily mise en place and kitchen operations during busy service periods.
- Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely service.





Skills & Experience Required:

- Certificate III in Asian Cookery, Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or Certificate IV in Kitchen Management is required.
- At least one year of experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen is required. Experience preparing authentic Chinese or Sichuan cuisine will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking techniques, ingredient preparation, seasoning, wok cooking and food presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a rapid-paced commercial kitchen while maintaining consistent food quality.
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team and communicate well with colleagues during busy service periods.
- Availability to work on a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
