Kareena Private Hospital is a dynamic acute care 142 bed facility. Kareena caters for a full range of specialties including cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, geriatric medicine, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, ophthalmology, paediatrics, respiratory medicine and vascular surgery. Radiology and pathology services are also available on site.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Theatre Assistant to join our healthcare team at our Kareena Private Hospital on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to our surgical theatre operations, ensuring a protected, efficient, and sterile environment for patients and medical staff. The Theatre Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth functioning of our operating theatres while upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.

It’s a requirement for this role that you are available Monday-Friday afternoons.

About You

You will have excellent communication skills and a willingness to develop a working knowledge of hospital procedures. You will be a motivated, positive individual and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.

While experience is not necessary in this role, an interest in patient care is essential to succeed.

You will also bring:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effective within a team environment and independently as required
- Excellent patient and customer service focus
- Be available for a range of shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
- Prior experience in a similar role (highly desirable)

Additional Information
