Join our team at Cadney Homestead Roadhouse, a busy outback stop offering fuel, accommodation, restaurant and bar to tourists, locals and truck drivers. We are looking for a full-time Chef who can run a small but high‑volume kitchen and help us grow into a resort‑style destination.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and develop menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including specials and events.
- Estimate food and labour costs, work to food cost targets and minimise wastage.
- Order, receive and check food and kitchen supplies, and manage stock rotation.
- Monitor the quality, taste, consistency and presentation of dishes at all stages of preparation and service.
- Prepare and cook a range of meals (pub classics, roadhouse favourites, takeaway, and functions).
- Discuss food preparation and service issues with Managers, kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to improve operations.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise staff on recipes, portion control and cooking procedures.
- Ensure all hygiene, food safety and WHS regulations are followed at all times.
- Maintain a clean, protected and organised kitchen, including equipment care and cleaning schedules.
- Train,



supervise and roster kitchen staff; support recruitment of new team members when needed.
- Assist with menu costings, stocktakes and basic kitchen administration.
- May be involved in freezing, preserving and storing foods for remote operations.

About You

- Trade qualified Chef (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in bistro, pub, roadhouse or high‑volume kitchen.
- Able to work independently and lead a small team.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards.
- Reliable, organised and calm under pressure.
- Willing to live and work in a remote outback location.
