About the role

The Bakeologists is seeking a talented Baker to join our team in New Farm, Queensland. As a full-time baker, you will be responsible for creating a short but delicious range of sourdough and some yeasted breads for retail and in house use.

What you'll be doing

- Mixing, kneading, fermenting, proving, baking and finishing products to consistent quality standards.
- Monitoring ingredient quality and maintaining recipe consistency.
- Leading and supervising bakery staff during production.
- Training and mentoring apprentice and junior bakers.
- Planning daily production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ingredient ordering.
- Operating and maintaining commercial bakery equipment safely.
- Identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency and minimise waste.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assisting with recent product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential requirements

- Trade qualification in Baking or equivalent industry experience




- Minimum 3 years' commercial bakery experience (checkable references required).
- Must be willing to start work late & weekend shifts and ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
- A great attitude.
- Strong product knowledge, including artisan sourdough, croissants and pastries.
- Experience producing a broad range of bakery products.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Must have good communication skills & work within a team.
- Current Food Safety Certificate.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
