Support Worker (NDIS) – Casual

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and confident Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to an adult male participant in the community.

About the Participant

The participant is a 39-year-old male who requires support with daily living, community participation, maintaining routines, and building greater independence. The participant lives with psychosocial support needs, including a diagnosis of schizophrenia. We are looking for a support worker who can build a positive rapport, provide consistent support, and encourage engagement in everyday activities and the community..

Key Responsibilities

- Provide 1:1 support in the home and community
- Assist with daily living activities and maintaining routines
- Support community access, appointments, shopping, and recreational activities
- Encourage independence, confidence, and skill development
- Promote social inclusion and community participation
- Follow participant support plans and strategies
- Complete progress notes and required documentation
- Work collaboratively with the participant's support network and professionals

Essential Requirements

- Experience supporting individuals with schizophrenia, psychosocial disabilities, mental health, behavioural, or complex support needs
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health recovery principles and person-centred support practices
- Ability to recognise and respond appropriately to changes in mental health presentation while maintaining a calm and supportive approach
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Clearance




- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries

Desirable

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, or similar
- Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans
- Previous NDIS disability support experience

- Comfortable supporting participants living with schizophrenia and other psychosocial disabilities
- Able to build trust and positive rapport with adult participants
- Confident working independently
- Skilled and person-centred in your approach
- Passionate about helping people achieve their goals and increase their independence

Job Details

Pay: $32.00 – $37.00 per hour

Job Type: Casual / Part-Time

Roster:

- Monday to Friday
- 2 hours in the morning
- 2 hours in the afternoon
- Total of 4 hours per day (20 hours per week)

Work Authorisation: Australia (Required)

Work Location: Perth Metropolitan Area, WA
