Line Producer / Production Manager (2D Animation)
Location: Sydney, NSW (On-site)
Contract: Approximately 60-85 weeks, with potential extension

About the Studio
Our client is an established Australian animation studio commencing production on an exciting new 2D animated series, Space Daz, a Screen Australia-funded spin-off from the successful The Beach Daz franchise.
As production ramps up, the studio is seeking an experienced Line Producer or Production Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering the series from pre-production through to final delivery. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative creative team and work alongside an experienced Producer on a high-profile Australian production.
The Opportunity
This position is suited to an experienced Line Producer or an accomplished Production Manager looking to step into a broader leadership role.
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day production operation, ensuring the project remains on schedule, within budget and running efficiently across all departments. They will be responsible for anticipating production challenges, coordinating teams, maintaining clear communication across stakeholders and supporting the successful delivery of the series.
Depending on experience, the successful applicant may take ownership of production budgets or work alongside the Producer in managing financial delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the production across all departments.
- Develop, maintain and monitor the master production schedule.
- Identify production risks early and implement practical solutions before they impact delivery.
- Coordinate multiple production teams, ensuring milestones are achieved on time.
- Work closely with the Producer,
Directors and department leads to maintain production momentum.
- Assist with crew recruitment, contracting and onboarding.
- Monitor budgets and production expenditure (Line Producer level), or support budget management alongside the Producer (Production Manager level).
- Oversee production reporting and workflow tracking.
- Coordinate project deliverables through to final delivery.
- Support audit preparation and funding compliance requirements.
- Foster clear communication between creative and production teams to ensure a collaborative working environment.
About You
The ideal candidate combines strong production management skills with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. They are highly organised, thrive in fast-paced creative environments and are confident navigating the complexities of animation production.
They will bring:
- Previous experience as a Line Producer, Production Manager or Senior Production Coordinator within animation.
- Demonstrated experience working on 2D animated productions.
- Exceptional scheduling and planning skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving production challenges.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to balance creative requirements with production realities.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Highly Regarded
- Extensive experience within Australian 2D animation studios.
- Experience progressing from senior production coordination into production management.
- Knowledge of Australian screen funding requirements and production audits.
- Experience working on long-form television animation.
Software
Experience using Toon Boom Producer (formerly True Loom) or similar production management software is highly desirable.
Working Relationships
The successful candidate will work closely with:
- Executive Producer
- Series Producer
- Directors
- Department Supervisors
- Production Coordinators
- Screen Australia and co-production stakeholders where required
This role will become a key operational leader within the production team, ensuring communication flows effectively across both creative and production departments.
