Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.

We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join our team on a full time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Parilla site in South Australia.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the Farm Workshop Manager you will be working in an outdoor farm environment.

An attractive remuneration package between $70,000 - $90,000 is available to the right candidates.

Duties include:

- Identify, develop, and implement equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installs to reduce risk, improve capability, quality, and reliability, and lower operational costs.
- Set up, operate, calibrate, and maintain machinery to ensure daily production requirements are met without negative impacts to the customer or business.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of farm machinery and production equipment to ensure operational reliability.
- Collect and analyse machine data, carrying out complex computations and preparing drawings.
- Monitor equipment performance, identifying operational issues.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the operations team to ensure proper machine functionality.
- Adjust machine controls whilst monitoring the production process to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.




- Assist the maintenance manager in diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic system faults.
- Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
- Conduct all duties in accordance with procedures as specified by the quality system to ensure that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and provisions.
- All other requirements as directed to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) OR at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in mechanical services.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of engine repair, mechanical and electrical systems, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with a mechanical workshop plant and equipment.
- Ability to confidently diagnose faults on site and in the workshop.
- Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence (essential)

This position will require weekend and night work in line with production demands.
