Senior Ecologist, QLD
Location: Brisbane
Our national biodiversity team is known for our wide ranging and extensive technical expertise and our robust biodiversity assessments. Our services are in high demand and continue to grow on the back of current and exciting projects, including within the renewable energy, infrastructure and resource sectors. At all times, our goal is to use our expertise to provide specialist advice to balance development, impact avoidance and offsetting results that achieve the best possible environmental outcome.
About the Role
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Senior Ecologist with strong skills in ecological surveys, assessments, and reporting. You will be passionate about fieldwork and committed to delivering high quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver ecological assessments, surveys and reporting across a range of projects
- Manage project timelines, budgets and client relationships to ensure successful outcomes
- Provide technical expertise in either flora, fauna and habitat assessments, including regulatory approvals
- Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering team capability and development
- Oversee field programs, including planning, logistics, and site based risk assessments
- Contribute to business development through proposal writing, client engagement and networking
About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior Ecologist who has the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology, environmental science
- 6+ years relevant experience
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental policies
- Terrestrial flora and/or fauna survey experience, including the capacity to plan surveys and coordinate field teams
- Demonstrated experience in project managing medium and large-scale development and/or biodiversity projects
- Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients, government agencies and fellow team members
- Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing and reviewing reports – with a willingness to take responsibility for delivery of reports to final quality
- Highly motivated with a strong team commitment
- Be willing to work flexible hours and travel for work
