The Local Hotel is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Chef to join our professional kitchen team on a full-time basis.

As a Chef, you will play a key role in the daily operation of our kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining food safety, quality and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and menu specifications.
Assist in planning, developing and updating seasonal menus, daily specials.
Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality, consistency and presentation.
Monitor portion control and food preparation procedures to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards, HACCP principles and Workplace Health and Safety WHS regulations.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workplace at all times.
Monitor kitchen workflow during service to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
Ensure all equipment is operated safely,
maintained correctly and reported for repair when necessary.
Maintain accurate records relating to food safety, temperature control, cleaning schedules and stock management.
Respond promptly to customer dietary requirements, allergies and special requests.
Contribute to a positive, skilled and team-oriented workplace culture.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Certificate IV in commercial cooking.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to perform efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
