Specific Skills

- Previous experience in Aged Care food service or hospitality is an advantage.
- Minimum 6 months of professional experience in Aged Care.
- Valid DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check or be willing to obtain one.
- Up to date vaccination as per Australian Government Regulations, including but not limited to Influenza and COVID19.
- Must hold Australian Driving Licence.

Responsible For

- Assist in the preparation of meals, following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Portion and plate food according to prescribed serving sizes and presentation standards.
- Serve meals to patients, residents, or clients in a timely and respectful manner.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.




- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate meal service and address any special dietary requirements.
- Interact with patients or residents in a courteous and empathetic manner during meal service, addressing any concerns or preferences.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including cooks and chefs, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Certificate III in Hospitality
- A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate/Food Handler Certificate.
- Must have knowledge of IDDSI standards Australia.
- Must hold a valid Manual Handling Certificate.
